Ask before you buy.

The time to ask questions about the Magic trick you intend to buy is BEFORE you buy it. Are you concerned about whether you have the skills to do the trick? All of our effects come with complete instructions, have been audience/spectator tested, and meet Magic Industry’s standards. If an effect requires special skills, we try to point that out in the product description.

No returns, no exchanges, and no refunds.

This is a standard policy for all Magic Shops: When You Wish Magic does not allow any item to be returned, refunded, or exchanged for a different item. We will replace a defective item with another of the same item only. Items damaged by the customer will not be replaced.

Please choose your items carefully. We have tried to provide enough information about each trick, effect, and/or illusion to help you choose the right items for you. Please read the description of the item carefully and any product reviews on the item to help you make your choices.

If you receive a defective item (one that arrives already broken or non-functioning), notify us by using our contact form or call our order department at (951) 506-5990 WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIVING THE ITEM and we will give you instructions for returning the item for replacement.

We apologize, but due to the abuse of this policy by attempts to return items broken by customers while using the tricks improperly, claims of defective items must be made within 24 hours of receiving the item.

Why doesn't accept returns?

Magic tricks are unlike any other item you will buy. When you buy a Magic trick, you are buying two things: the actual Magic Item and the Secret. Many Magic tricks work on very simple principles and the piece of equipment you get is only part of the trick. The main part is the Secret - the idea, the clever principle, the routine. The people who invent these tricks get paid for their ideas. It would not be fair for you to be able to order their tricks, examine them, learn the secret, and return them to get your money back because now you know "how it's done".

Magic is a hobby that requires practice and dedication: Put some practice into the tricks you buy and you will be rewarded. Don't get easily discouraged! Even the simplest tricks don't really work themselves - the Magician must present the illusion for the Magic to be really good. Since we practice all the time and will encourage you to do the same, returning a trick just because you don't feel like taking the time to practice it, is not an acceptable reason.

Some good Magic is simple. Sometimes that can be a drawback, because you may receive your trick and think, "Ahh, that's how it works" and be disappointed that it isn't more complicated. Remember that all the tricks we carry have been audience and industry tested. Just because a trick is ingeniously simple, isn't a good reason for wanting to return it. In fact, it could be your best trick!

Handle your tricks with care.

No refunds or exchanges if you break an item. We repeat: will not refund or exchange items that you break.

Some tricks are delicate in design, and can be easily broken if you don't know how to handle them. Please read the instructions carefully before working with your new Magic item(s). We strongly recommend that you do not let others "inspect" or handle your Magic items. Careless handling by others is a main cause of breakage. We sell tricks that are durable when used properly: That's the key to maintaining a good magic prop.
